Doncaster Rovers is a volunteer-run community soccer club in Doncaster East, with teams and programmes from MiniRoos through to senior football.

01

A website the club can take pride in

Rovers had grown, but its website had not grown with it.

The old site looked dated and no longer reflected the size of the club or the strength of its brand.

The new site gives Rovers a more professional presence, with stronger branding, clearer messaging and a consistent identity throughout.

02

Everything is easier to find

The old website had 20 menu items and important information was easy to miss.

We simplified the structure into six clear areas, with Register your interest always easy to find.

Players, parents, members and sponsors can now get to the right information faster.

03

Expressions of interest, all in one place

Rovers no longer needs separate Jotforms for different programmes.

The club can create an expression-of-interest form for a new programme, send submissions to the right person and manage every enquiry in one place. Data can also be exported to CSV when needed.

For players and parents, the process is simpler too. Forms only appear when registrations are open, and every submission gets an email confirmation so they know it has been received.

04

Fixtures, results and ladders, always current, no volunteer needed

Fixture information quickly goes out of date when someone has to update it by hand.

Rovers’ website pulls live competition data from Football Victoria through Dribl, so fixtures, results and ladders update automatically.

Members can filter by team, programme, home or away without leaving the club website.

A second copy of the data on the website would only become a second thing to keep aligned.

The fixtures filters on the Doncaster Rovers website, narrowing from every team to the Seniors, then to Women and Girls, then to one team’s results, then to home and away matches, and back to the full club list.

05

More value for sponsors, less work for the committee

A wall of logos gives sponsors little visibility and becomes difficult for volunteers to manage.

Rovers adds each sponsor once, with its description, website and partnership type. Primary sponsors get visibility on every page, while other sponsors can appear wherever they are relevant across the site.

30 sponsors across six partnership types are managed this way.

A sponsor record being edited: a one-sentence description, a website address, a Partnership type menu opening to show six options, and a Primary sponsor toggle.

06

Easy for volunteers to keep up to date

Club websites become outdated when every change needs a developer.

Rovers can add pages, news, sponsors, coaches, forms and club information themselves using pre-designed sections that keep everything consistent.

Since launch, two committee members have already published five pages themselves.

A new page being built: a title is typed, Add section opens a list of the available layouts, Hero is chosen, and its eyebrow and heading fields are filled in.

Noknok were nothing short of fabulous in developing the Doncaster Rovers website. From the initial creative concept right through to implementation, everything felt simple and ‘handled’.

In developing websites myself and seeing the implementation of many others over the years, I have never seen or experienced such a smooth and rapid process. Thank you Nikki – you are amazing!
